Ugh. I got into trouble yesterday. And as a result? I didn’t get to go outside.
AH was hauling wood inside and taking it upstairs to the woodstove. And as always, I stand ready by the door in case he needs help. Or slips up a bit. Well, it was the last load, he had both arms full and he left the door open just a little too long for my liking. Well, not really. He left it open long enough just for my liking. And in a split second, I was out. In less than a split second, the wood was dropped and he was hot on my trail.
I don’t know what startled me more - the sound of all that wood crashing to the deck, or AH telling me to freeze.
Now, when I’m in trouble like this … I have two choices: Freeze or take off running. I’ve taken off running before. Once. And it wasn’t worth it. So, I froze. Squatted down on the deck, hunched over and waited for the inevitable. No, no. He doesn’t hit me, swat me or anything like that. But I did get picked up. And surely wasn’t cuddle time. Back inside I went and was told - in no uncertain terms - that any outside time I may have had coming was gone. Fffft.
Honestly, I don’t know what I was thinking. I could’ve waited another five minutes and had plenty of outside time. Instead, I got stupid. Feh.
So, that was my day. Today will be better. I hope.
