Sorry for the late start today. You know how it is when you don’t get much sleep - or it takes forever to get to sleep? And when you finally do catch some decent shut-eye, it’s in the morning? And you can’t get out of bed? Nope. Me, neither.
OK. That’s me today because FP flew the coop. See, the first night after she leaves is always the worst because I stay up, sitting in the window waiting for her car to come home. And when it doesn’t, I try to get to sleep … wondering if she’s finally left me for good.
Night #2? I don’t have that problem. I figure she’s gone and I get on with my life. Or at least that’s what I convince myself. AH tells me she’ll be home tonight, so that’s a good thing.
OK. On with the varmint encounter from Sunday. I was near the top of the driveway with FP, and this squirrel comes down the tree and starts squawking at me. I sat back and let him yammer. And yammer, he did. After more squawking on his part - and if you’ve ever heard a squirrel going off, you know what I mean - he parks his backside on the top of the post. And then before FP could take a good picture of us in the same shot, he jumps back up the tree.

As you can see here, I’m highly entertained by all this. I mean, I’m doing nothing. I’m not making any moves on this guy. I’m not crouching and waiting to pounce. Nope. I’m just sitting and watching this varmint make a fool of himself.

Apparently - after determining I’m no threat (snicker) - he comes back down the tree and onto the ground behind it. And that’s when I started to make my move.
See you tomorrow. Oh, and have a great day.
